Ectopic Pregnancy Stories

An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside of the uterus instead of inside the uterine lining, most commonly within a fallopian tube. Because the fallopian tubes are not designed to support a growing pregnancy, an ectopic pregnancy cannot develop safely or result in a viable pregnancy. As the pregnancy grows, it can cause the fallopian tube to stretch and potentially rupture, leading to serious life-threatening emergencies if not treated promptly. Although an ectopic pregnancy cannot be carried to term, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can protect the mother’s health and, in many cases, preserve future fertility.

An ectopic pregnancy can bring an overwhelming mix of fear, heartbreak, and grief. Parents may have already imagined their baby's future, only to learn that the pregnancy cannot continue safely. The loss can feel especially complicated because the pregnancy may end through urgent medical treatment rather than the miscarriage they expected.

Here, we honor the babies who were loved from the very beginning and the parents who had to say goodbye too soon. Your baby mattered. Your love mattered. And your grief deserves to be acknowledged, supported, and remembered.
